Stretch Challenge 2017

The challenge if finally here!!

I have created this not only to improve your flexibility but also to show you that stretching is easy to do.  Its free, it takes little time but all you need is to stick to this program and you will gain the benefits.  The idea is to slowly introduce stretching into your daily activity whilst building up each week it will become more of a routine.

Everyone needs to stretch.  Sitting here typing right now I am using loads of different muscles.  If I was to do this all day then I would really need to stretch to loosen them up a bit. Otherwise eventually I would start to get niggles…which would then lead to pain..you get the drift!

Each week I will show you a stretch.  Your challenge is to do this stretch twice a day.  Each stretch is held for 60secs.

The following week you then have another stretch added into the mix, you will still keep the original stretch and also the new one on top.

  • Remember you can do stretching whilst watching TV…standing up…you don’t have to get the yoga mat out and sit down. Also if you want to know more about stretching, go to the website, there is more info on there.
  • Get yourself a stop watch on your phone to make sure that you do the full 60secs and nothing less.

So if you are ready for the challenge then let’s get started!!!

First stretch for you guys to start from now is below.  No one every stretches their neck unless they have an injury.  So you will be surprised at how stiff your neck will actually be when you do the stretch!  Please be very aware of your posture whilst stretching and keep a straight back whilst doing so.  Gently pull the neck over to the side and you should feel it where the yellow line is.  Post please if you are joining in or just a mention!!  Good luck and I will check in to see how you guys are doing!!
